Coxos

Inserted in a landscape that has remained intact since it began to be frequented in the early 70s, the Coxos wave is the one that best symbolizes the spirit of local surfers and the values ​​by which the Reserve is governed: protection and sustainability.

Formed by a reef that presents a smooth and uniform slope down to the middle of the Bay of Dois Irmãos, it offers a classic pointbreak configuration, with the surf line following the coastline from beginning to end. It is a powerful wave, with different sections and that works with several waving directions, and in ideal conditions it provides tubes with several seconds of duration. The dedication of the locals to this wave was the initial spark that triggered the application process for the World Surfing Reserve.
